Candle Safety

Our candles are crafted with care — please follow these guidelines to enjoy them safely.

Candles are an open flame product. Please read all safety information before use. Keep the warning label on the base of your candle and refer to it regularly.

Never leave a burning candle unattended

Always extinguish candles before leaving a room or going to sleep.

Trim the wick to 5mm before every burn

Long wicks cause soot, smoking and uneven burning.

Burn for no longer than 4 hours at a time

Extended burns overheat the vessel and can cause the wax to behave unexpectedly.

Keep away from children and pets

Place candles out of reach on a stable surface where they cannot be knocked over.

Avoid draughts and fans

Moving air causes uneven burning, excessive flickering and accelerates wax consumption.

Place on a heat-resistant surface

The base can become very warm. Use a plate, coaster or candle tray.

Never use water to extinguish

Water causes wax to spit and can crack the glass. Use a candle snuffer or lid instead.

Stop burning when 1cm of wax remains

Burning below 1cm risks overheating the vessel. Repurpose the glass once finished.

The first burn matters most

On first use, allow the wax pool to reach the full diameter of the vessel before extinguishing. This typically takes 2-3 hours and prevents "tunnelling" — where wax forms a narrow pool down the centre, wasting the candle.
